Session Initiation
Protocol (SIP)

With a main focus on voice chat and phone calls, SIP is used to initiate, maintain, and terminate real-time phone sessions.

If your company does a lot of video conferencing, SIP works for that too! SIP causes less congestion when compared to a single network connection.

Instant Messaging

Instant messaging and chat is also supported by SIP, along with media distribution and file sharing.

What is SIP and how does it benefit your business?

Session Initiation Protocol or SIP is a protocol that allows users to establish, modify, maintain, and close data connections in order to voice or video chat. SIP can be used in both one-way and both way connections.

SIP uses user agents on each end of a connection to process the data that’s being transmitted. Because of this, SIP calls (especially conference calls) are less likely to slow down or become congested.

SIP Addresses

An SIP address is just like a phone number, it’s used to call or chat with another party. When hosting your VoIP communications, you would have SIP addresses for your business to distribute to your employees.

Hosted SIP

If your business doesn’t have the infrastructure required to set up SIP, there are options out there. For example, by working with a company that can host for you, you’ll gain access to the ability to use voice and video chat with your employees using this protocol.

SIP Trunking

SIP service provides higher reliability and performance while lowering costs compared to traditional TDM Services. But while everyone agrees SIP is the answer -every carrier implements it differently. Our team will work with you to understand your requirements and implement the right solution.
SIP trunking allows you to leverage your existing network connections and infrastructure to deliver VoIP service. Reduce the number of circuits and equipment you manage by layering SIP on top of your existing internet or WAN connections.
Most voice solutions have single points of failure and don’t supporting rerouting DIDs easily. With SIP Trunking, you can mix and max connection types and reroute SIP traffic with the click of a few buttons. This allows you to nearly eliminate down time while not breaking the bank.
Purchasing the right number of lines for today’s needs and tomorrow’s growth can be a challenge. With SIP service, you can easily scale up and scale down your services – often at the click of a button.
